Langley's Story

Langley's Restaurant in Surbiton

Bevan and Miranda Hoogewerf and their team would like to warmly welcome you to Langleys Restaurant & Wine Bar in Surbiton. A new brasserie style restaurant & wine bar to serve the local community with locally sourced ingredients, prepared and served in a stylish and sophisticated atmosphere, with a menu that will entice and cater for all palettes.

The curved corner on Langley’s road was built in 1893 for a family grocers’ known as the Jamison Brothers. Twenty six years later, the business became the 13th branch of Waitrose in the country serving the grand houses in the Southborough estate. Big changes came in the 1950s introducing the rock ‘n’ roll to the area with the coming of Bell’s guitar shop with Eric Clapton buying his first guitar there.

Thirty years later, the building is now being restored back to its original glory, with many original features being discovered which have been hidden for nearly a century. With a late licence and live music, we cater for all types of parties with tailored menus to fit your needs.

Combining local knowledge, having lived in Surbiton for many years, with a wealth of experience from the hospitality industry too, (such as The Savoy, Simpsons on the Strand, Tryst Restaurant & Bar and most recently at Coombe Hill Golf Club), Bevan and Miranda believe they have created the perfect setting to enjoy delicious food, fine wines and excellent service.
